-Space Fantasy Zone: PCE CD-
-Overview-

This was an unreleased prototype for the PC Engine CD system.  From what I understand, NEC started making it without Sega's permission, and Sega stopped release of this game when they found out about it.

-Short Review-

Not bad, it's 'Space Harrier meets Fantasy Zone', meaning it's just Space harrier with Fantasy Zone themed graphics.
You get one life to complete the game, but you also get a health bar that can be replenished by visiting the 'Weapdonalds" at the end of every stage.  There are also numerous power-up's you can buy, but there's really nothing too usefull.  Though, the mini Opa-Opa helper you can buy is kinda nice, as it doubles your fire power.
The graphics are pretty good, but the scaling's not very smooth.  I think NEC just re-used their Space Harrier Engine that they already had.
The Music is great, but there only apppears to be a few tunes: An 'Opa-Opa' mixed with the Space Harrier theme remix, and remixes of the Fantasy Zone tunes for the boss fights and shopping, and ending with a 'Victory Way' Space harrier 'Game Over' mix.
The copy I found on the internet ends after you beat the stage 6 boss, but I managed to find screenshots for the rest of the game, so either I did something wrong when I played the game, or there's another version out there somewhere. Anyhow, I think I've gotten a pretty good idea of how the rest of the game would have been.
